As part of our mission to make Sky Betting & Gaming the safest place to gamble, we conduct checks to identify customers that may be spending more than they can afford.
In order to do this, we have partnered with a Credit Reference Agency (TransUnion) to carry out checks. These checks help us better understand our customers' financial situation and enable us to help our customers gamble within their means.
Can I see this check on my credit file?
When a check is conducted, a soft search footprint will appear on your credit file. These searches will not affect your credit score or your chance of being approved for credit.
Sky Betting & Gaming do not have access to your credit file, nor can we see your credit score.
How does this affect me?
Dependent upon the outcome of the check, we may apply a limit to your Sky Betting & Gaming account.
What factors may impact a limit being applied to my account?
For the significant majority, the checks are completely frictionless.
However, If we identify things such as a bankruptcy order, CCJs, individual voluntary arrangement, high court judgement, administration order or decree, a limit may be applied to your account.
What's the difference between this limit vs Deposit Limits?
The main difference is that this limit is set automatically by us and can't be amended without speaking to us directly, and your Deposit Limit is set by you.
Can I decrease my limit?
Yes, if this limit is not right for you, we would be happy to assist in applying a lower limit.

Can I increase my limit?
If you'd like us to increase your limit, you can get in touch online or through the app using the 'Contact Us' button at the bottom of this page. You may need to provide documentation to show that a higher limit is sustainable.
Information on how you fund your Sky Betting & Gaming account (e.g. Salary or other income) along with documentation that supports this. Examples of documentation may include one of the below:
- Payslips or a copy of a PAYE P60 Annual form
- Directorship or company shareholdings, if applicable
- Official HM Land Registry Property ownership documentation
- Evidence of saving or inheritance via bank statements
- A copy of a Bank Statement dated within the last 3 months (name and address must also be clearly visible).
When raising your request, please also include:
- Your account Username
- Your preferred limit
