What is a Self-Exclusion?
If you want to stop gambling for longer than 30 days, you can make that happen. With a Self-Exclusion you can block your account from some or all of our products, from six months to five years, or permanently (only available when selecting an 'all product' Self-Exclusion)... you decide.
For breaks between 1 & 30 days you can use our cool off tool. For more information, read here.
You can choose to block your account from all of our products or one of the three options below:
- Sky Bet only
- Sky Vegas, Sky Casino, Sky Bingo and Sky Bet Games
- Sky Poker only
A Self-Exclusion can be set between a period of 6 months and 5 years, or permanently (only available when selecting an 'all product' Self-Exclusion).
Remember - Once you enter into a Self-Exclusion this cannot be removed from your account. Even our customer services team are unable to do this for you.
As a result of Self-Exclusion:
- During the period of Self Exclusion chosen by you, we will use reasonable endeavours to prevent you gambling with us, including as applicable closing your account/blocking access to the product/s from which you have chosen to exclude and attempting to identify any existing or duplicate accounts opened or operated by you.
- However, you agree that you have an equal obligation not to seek to circumvent your Self Exclusion and you accept that we have no liability to you if you seek to breach your Self Exclusion and gamble by opening further accounts or changing your registration details.
- Once your Self Exclusion has commenced, the decision is irreversible until the end of the period you have chosen.
- If you are resident in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man and apply a full product Self Exclusion (rather than an exclusion on a specific product/s), where a matched account is identified the selected exclusion will be applied across any UK* accounts located within the following Flutter Brands: Paddy Power, Betfair, tombola and Poker Stars. We will endeavour to prevent you accessing your account/s or creating a new account within your selected Self-Exclusion timeframe across all of these brands
- Upon entry into a full account Self-Exclusion where 3 single product exclusions have been applied separately and different Self-Exclusion durations have been chosen, we will align your full SBG account exclusion to the longest selected timeframe. This may result in exclusions being extended beyond their initially selected timeframe.

- Upon entry into a full account Self Exclusion (rather than an exclusion on a specific product/s) we will return your remaining account balance in accordance with our withdrawal policy.
- Within two days of your Self Exclusion, you will be removed from any direct marketing lists we hold. It is your responsibility to opt out of any marketing communications you may receive from a third party or access via social media.
Once your Self-Exclusion period has ended and if you wish to reopen your account/ obtain access to the product/s from which you Self-Excluded, you must contact our customer services team. Once removed we will then apply a 24-hour cooling off period before your account is reopened/access to the product/s is allowed. Please refer to Section 29 of the Sky Betting and Gaming General Terms & Conditions relating to Self-Exclusion.
Is Self-Exclusion the right option for me?
Do you wish to block access to gambling for 6 months to five years due to a gambling concern? If the answer is yes then Self-Exclusion could be the right option for you. Self-Exclusion means you will be unable to re-access the products you have excluded from until your Self-Exclusion has expired.
If you simply wish to close your account, please contact our customer services team.
Will my Self-Exclusion be extended to other operators?
Our family group consists of Paddy Power, Betfair, PokerStars, tombola and Sky Betting & Gaming (which includes Sky Bet, Sky Vegas, Sky Bingo, Sky Casino and Sky Poker).
For customers Self-Excluding post 08/06/2022, when you apply a Self-Exclusion on ALL products or all three of Sky Bet, Sky Gaming and Sky Poker we aim to replicate the self-exclusion to accounts you hold with matching details across our family brands in the UK (as listed above).
We will do all we reasonably can to prevent you from setting up new accounts and gambling and you'll also be unable to undo your Self-Exclusion once it's started.
Until your Self-Exclusion ends, you'll be blocked and unable to gamble on [Sky Betting & Gaming] - plus any other accounts in the UK* with matching details you may have with brands that are part of our family group.
If you are Self-Excluding on an account registered outside of the UK, you will need to self-exclude directly with the relevant brand in order to be excluded from your account with that brand.
If you are applying a product Self-Exclusion, unless all three exclusions of Sky Bet, Sky Gaming and Sky Poker have been applied, this exclusion will apply only to you Sky Betting and Gaming Account.
* For accounts registered in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Gibraltar, Channel Islands, British overseas territories. Paddy Power Betfair and Sky Betting and Gaming accounts for customers located in Isle of Man.
For more information on how your Self-Exclusion will be applied across the group click here.
Will I be able to remove a Self-Exclusion once set?
You will be unable to remove your Self-Exclusion until the exclusion period you chose has expired. Our customer services team cannot remove a Self-Exclusion until it has expired. Your account will remain excluded until you chose to call us and re-instate after your Self-Exclusion end date. The number to call is 0808 168 9222.
