Non Runners

What is an non-runner?

  • A non-runner is a selection that's named but doesn't take part in an event. For example, horse which doesn't run in the race its scheduled for.

What happens to my bet?

  • In most circumstances your bet will be void and your stake returned.
  • If the selection is part of a multiple the bet will become the next accumulative bet down e.g. a treble becomes a double. For accumulators, bets will be settled on your remaining selections.

Are there any exceptions?

  • If your bet is an Antepost bet (see rules for Antepost betting in our Antepost article) it will be classed as a losing bet.
  • All Antepost bets for the Cheltenham Festival will be refunded if placed under the Non-Runner No Bet promotion. This promotion will always be highlighted under the races it applies to. If this isn't stated the promotion does not apply. For more information please read our Non Runner No Bet article.
