Player Not Starting

What does a player not starting mean?

When a player is said to "not start" in football, it means they are not included in the initial 11 players chosen to begin the match on the field, and instead will start the game on the bench as a substitute, only coming on to play if the manager decides to replace another player during the game.

What does this mean for my bet?

Your bet will still run as normal. Your player may get subbed on during the game and your bet could win.

Void:

In the event of a player not participating, all bets will be made void IF the player does not take any part in the match.

  • If your player is not included within the squad, the bet would be made void

Stands:

  • If the player comes on they will be treated as a runner for bets upon which they can be successful ie. Anytime Goalscorer, Wincast.
  • If a player has any opportunity to fulfil the bet they are counted as a runner, irrelevant of how long they have played.

What if I leave the bet to run, and the player doesn't come on?

This depends on the type of bet you have placed...

  • On Single bets - Your bet would be voided
  • On Multi's - We would void the selection/leg with the player in it. Your bet will then be repriced to reflect the voided selection, and all other selections in your bet will stand.
  • On BuildABet bets - If one selection of your BuildABet is voided, the remaining selections will continue to run.

What does this mean for my BuildABet?

  • If one selection of your BuildABet is voided, the remaining selections will continue to run.
  • For example, if you had placed 4 selections within your BuildABet and 1 selection is void, it will settle on the remaining 3 legs, at the odds of the remaining selections. See more on BuildABets here.

What does this mean for First Goalscorer bets?

  • If your player has not participated in the game when the first goal is scored, bets will be void and stakes returned.
  • If your player has participated in the game and failed to score, bets will stand

What does this mean for Scorecast/Wincast bets?

Scorecast:

  • We do not fully void a scorecast if the player does not partake in the game instead the bet is settled as a correct score single. The first goalscorer part of the bet is governed by the same rules as first goalscorer single bets - own goals do not count and if your player either comes on before the first goal is scored or goes off without scoring, the entire bet is deemed as a loser. Note we do not fully void a scorecast if the player does not partake in the game.

Wincast:

  • This is a bet on a player to score in 90 minutes and the nominated team to win the game. It slightly differs from a scorecast in that it is completely voided if the player does not take part, it is not settled as a single on the team to win. If a player plays any part in the game they are deemed to have been active and therefore the bet stands.

Do I have any other options?

You could try to Cash Out your bet, if the Cash Out is available.

  • To do this, head to your bets and locate the bet you are wanting to Cash Out.
  • Try clicking Cash Out on your bet before the game kicks off so you can place a bet on a player who is starting. Please note, Cash Out may not always be available. See more information here on how Cash Out works and why Cash Out may not be available for you.
