We offer challenging but rewarding forecast bets like straight, combination and reverse forecasts and tricasts. An explanation of each of these bets (as well as how to place them) is given below.
Forecasts
Forecasts are accepted in all races of 3 or more actual runners and will be settled as a straight forecast (selections to finish 1st and 2nd in correct order) in accordance with the computer straight forecast dividend. If there are less than 3 actually running in a race then all forecasts for that race will be void. Tricasts are accepted in races where an official computer tricast dividend is declared. Any that are taken on a race where no dividend is declared will stand as a computer straight forecast on the selections chosen to finish first and second with the third being discounted.
In the event that there is only one finisher in a race and no Forecast dividend is returned, all Forecasts bets with the winning selection to finish first will be settled as WIN SP singles on the winning horse. All other forecast bets will be losing bets.
Forecast Bets are settled in accordance with the computer SP straight forecast returns. If for any reason a Forecast SP return is not given, bets will be made void.
Selections should always be named. Unnamed Favourites are not accepted and where taken in error will be made void.
Forecast Bets involving a non-runner will be made void. Tricast Bets involving a non-runner will stand as a computer straight forecast on the remaining two selections in the order stated. Bets involving two non-runners will be made void.
Straight Forecast
Also known just as a 'forecast', the straight forecast asks you to predict who will come first and who will come second in a race (in that particular order). To place a forecast bet, beneath the 'Forecast & Tricast' heading select the Horse or Greyhound you predict to finish 1st by clicking the '1st' box under the Forecast heading, select the Horse or Greyhound you predict to finish 2nd by clicking the '2nd' box and you will notice the Forecast will be added to your betslip. Hovering over the 'i' icon will display the order you have requested, enter the stake and confirm the bet as you would a single bet to place the forecast.
Reverse Forecast
A reverse forecast involves you predicting who will come first and second in a race (in any order). It costs twice your stake because you're effectively placing 2 straight forecast bets.
A reverse forecast bet can be placed one of two ways:
- Select one Horse or Greyhound by clicking a '1st' box next to the selection name you choose to bet on (under the Forecast heading). By then selecting the '2nd' box next to the remaining selection you wish to include in the reverse forecast, you shall see the forecast will have been added to your betslip. By clicking the 'Change to Reverse Forecast' link the bet type will change to Reverse Forecast and your stake will be multiplied by two. Entering the stake and clicking 'Place Bet' (as well as 'Confirm Bet' if the option is selected) will place the reverse forecast bet.
- Select one Horse or Greyhound by clicking the 'Any' box next to the selection name you choose to bet on (under the Forecast heading). Select the 'Any' option for the 2nd Horse or Greyhound you wish to include and then click the 'Add to betslip' button which appears beneath the list of runners. The Reverse Forecast bet will be added to your betslip, entering your stake and clicking 'Place Bet' (as well as 'Confirm Bet' if the option is selected) will place the reverse forecast bet.
Combination Forecast
A combination forecast lets you pick 3 or more selection in a race. You get winnings if 2 of your selections finish first and second in any order. The more selections you have, the bigger your stake is. A combination forecast bet can be placed by selecting the 'Any' option under the 'Forecast' heading for each of the Horses or Greyhounds you wish to include in the bet. Once finished, the Combination Forecast will be added to the betslip and the unit stake will be notified to you next to the stake box. Common combinations include:
- 3 selections = 6 bets
- 4 selections = 12 bets
- 5 selections = 20 bets
- 6 selections = 30 bets
Entering the stake and clicking 'Place Bet' (as well as 'Confirm Bet' if the option is selected) will place the combination forecast bet.
Tricast
A tricast bet asks you to predict who will come first, who will come second and who will come third in a race (in that particular order). To place a tricast bet, beneath the 'Forecast & Tricast' heading select the Horse or Greyhound you predict to finish 1st by selecting the '1st' box under the 'Tricast' heading. Select the Horse or Greyhound you predict to finish 2nd and 3rd by clicking the relevant boxes and once selected the Tricast bet will be added to your betslip. Entering the stake and clicking 'Place Bet' (as well as 'Confirm Bet' if the option is selected) will place the tricast bet.
Combination Tricast
A tricast bet asks you to predict who will come first, who will come second and who will come third in a race (in any order). A combination tricast bet can be placed by selecting the 'Any' option under the 'Tricast' heading for each of the Horses or Greyhounds you wish to include in the bet. Once finished, the Combination Tricast will be added to the betslip and the unit stake will be notified to you next to the stake box. Common combinations include:
- 3 selections = 6 bets
- 4 selections = 24 bets
- 5 selections = 60 bets

Entering the stake and clicking 'Place Bet' (as well as 'Confirm Bet' if the option is selected) will place the combination tricast bet.
