Horse Racing First Past the Post Rules

What is First Past the Post?

  • First Past the Post (Or Double Result) is the way in which we pay winnings in horse racing bets. Its means that we will pay out for the horse which crosses the line first, even if they are later disqualified or downgraded in the race.

Which races does this promotion apply to?

  • First Past the Post is offered for all Fixed Odds Racing at Sky Betting & Gaming - that includes all UK & Irish racing & International racing.  We also pay First Past The Post on all Forecasts, Tricasts, RequestABets, Enhanced Accumulators, Specials, Derived Markets and In Running Horse Racing.

Where do I find the official results to see if my bet has won?

  • You can find full results for all races on Sporting Life by clicking here.

Are there any circumstances when this doesn't apply?

  • Horses that are disqualified because they failed to 'weigh in' correctly.
  • Horses that are disqualified because they have taken the 'wrong course'.
  • Where there is an official correction to the result by the judge or SIS prior to the "weigh in" and any races which are declared void before the "weigh in" for which Rules of Racing will apply.
  • Races which are declared void.
  • Bets which rely on Tote Dividends i.e. Jackpots, Placepots etc are settled against our Horse Racing Rules. This includes all pari-mutuel betting.
  • Horses that are declared disqualified during the race (Trotting Races).
