Basketball Rules

What is Basketball? Basketball is a game played between two teams of five players each on a rectangular court, usually indoors. Each team tries to score by tossing the ball through the opponent's elevated horizontal hoop and net called a basket.

General Rules

Our primary source of information for settlement of bets will be taken from the official governing body wherever possible.
Settlement will be determined immediately following the conclusion of each match - subsequent alterations and amendments to results will not count for betting purposes.
If any fixture is postponed/delayed, bets will stand provided the fixture begins on the same day local time. Otherwise, bets will be made void.
If a match is postponed or there is a change of venue which materially affects home advantage, all bets will be made void. If a match is brought forward bets will stand.
If a match is abandoned, all bets will be made void, except for bets where the market has already been unconditionally determined. For example, all 1st half only markets would stand in the event a match was abandoned during the 2nd half.
Games or markets where a result cannot be found will result in bets being made void 12 hours after the match started.
When a handicap/totals tie occurs, and no draw selection is offered (known as a "push"), bets will be made void.
Overtime counts for all bets except those relating to halves or quarters, unless otherwise stated.
A player must step on court at some point during a match for bets to stand. This applies to ANY market involving a player performance line including Price Boosts, RequestABet etc. If a player involved does not play then any bets involving these players will be made void.

Match Result

You're betting on: The result of the match.

Overtime counts for this market UNLESS you are betting on the win match normal time market, which includes a draw price.

Handicap Betting

You're betting on: Which team will win the match after the designated handicap scores have been applied.

When a handicap tie occurs, and no draw selection is offered (known as a "push"), bets will be made void.

Half Markets

Who will Win the specified Half when the given handicap is applied?
How Many Points will there be and how many points will the specified team score?
Bets relate to the score of the specified half only for settlement purposes.

Quarter Markets

Winner, Handicap, Points & Race to X Points.

Who will Win the specified Quarter?
Who will Win the Quarter when the given Handicap is applied.
How many points will there be and which team will win the race to the specified points total in that quarter?
Bets relate to the score of the specified quarter only for settlement purposes.

Overtime Betting

Will overtime be played in the match?
Should the event not have overtime scheduled this market will be void should it be offered.

Total Points

You're betting on: Whether the combined total score of the match is above or below the set number.

Overtime DOES count for Total Points betting purposes.

Team Total Points

You're betting on: Whether the total score of the named team is above or below the set number.

Overtime DOES count for Team Total Points betting purposes.

Winning margin

You're betting on: how many points the selected team will win by.

Winning margin betting is from scratch, i.e. based on no handicap.
Overtime does NOT count for these markets, both in-play and pre-match.

Half Time Result

You're betting on: The result of the match at Half-Time.

Half-time/Full-time

You're betting on: The result of the match at half time and full time.

Overtime does NOT count for Half-time/Full-time markets.

First Half Money Line

You're betting on: The team that will win the 1st half.

If scores are tied, bets will be made void.

Even or Odd Total Points

You're betting on: Whether the total points scored in the game be odd or even.

Player points

You're betting on: The total points that a player will score in a match above or below the set number.

A player must step on the court at some point during the match for bets to stand. If they fail to play, bets will be made VOID.
Overtime DOES count for these markets.

Player rebounds

You're betting on: The total rebounds that a player will score in a match above or below the set number.

Rebounds count both the offensive and defensive variety.
A player must step on the court at some point during the match for bets to stand. If they fail to play, bets will be made VOID.
Overtime DOES count for these markets.

Player assists

You're betting on: The total assists that a player will score in a match above or below the set number.

A player must step on the court at some point during the match for bets to stand. If they fail to play, bets will be made VOID.
Overtime DOES count for these markets.

Player Head to Head Points, Assists and Rebounds match-bet

You're betting on: Which player will accumulate the most points, assists or rebounds on the given night.

Both players must step on the court at some point during the match for bets to stand. If one fails to play, bets will be made VOID.
Overtime DOES count for these markets.
In the event of a tie all bets will be void.

NBA Championship Winner

You're betting on: Which team will win the NBA Championship.

If the NBA Championships is not completed within the same calendar year then all outright bets will be made void e.g. 'NBA Championship 2020 Outright' will be made void.

NBA Conference Winner

You're betting on: Which team will win the Conference including the play-offs.

If an NBA Conference is not completed within the same calendar year then all Conference bets will be made void.

NBA Divisions Winner

You're betting on: Which team will win their Divisions.

If the season is shortened bets will be settled in instances where the NBA declare a winner. If the NBA matches are moved to a neutral site all bets will stand.

Series Betting

The winner will be determined as the team that advances from the series of matches usually played over (but not limited to) best of 1,3,5 or 7 matches.
Matches typically take place at home and away venues with the higher seeded team awarded an extra home game.
If the format of home/away/neutral venues are changed before the entire series has started then bets will stand. If this information changes after the series has started then bets will be voided. Moves from one neutral venue to another neutral venue will not be deemed as a format change and bets would stand in this instance.
If one or more teams does not take any part in the event then all bets on the market will be made void.
If one or more teams forfeit a match or the entire series once the series has started then the winner will be settled as the team that advances.
If both teams are disqualified or decide to forfeit a series then bets will be made void.

NBA To Make/Miss the Play-Offs

You're betting on: will the stated team make or miss the playoffs in the specified season.

If the season is shortened bets will stand in instances where the playoffs still go ahead with the same number of teams as originally scheduled.
If the number of teams taking part in the playoffs changes, then all bets will be void.
If the NBA matches are moved to a neutral site all bets will stand.

Double-Double

You're betting on: that the Player(s) will score double-figures in any TWO of the following FIVE statistics - points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots-in a game
A player must step on the court at some point during the match for bets to stand. If they fail to play, bets will be made VOID.
Overtime DOES count for these markets.

Triple-Double

You're betting on: that the Player(s) will score double-figures in any THREE of the following FIVE statistics - points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots-in a game.

A player must step on the court at some point during the match for bets to stand. If they fail to play, bets will be made VOID.
Overtime DOES count for these markets.

Match Treble

You're betting on: The team to win, the combined total score of the match to be over the set number & the named player to score over the set number of points.

Should the named player not step onto the court at any point in the game all bets will be made VOID.
Overtime DOES count for all of these markets.

Regular Season Points

You're betting on: Which player will have the highest average Points scored per game during the regular season.

If any player plays less than 60 regular season games then their selection will be voided.

Regular Season Assists

You're betting on: Which player will have the highest average Assists made per game during the regular season.

If any player plays less than 60 regular season games then their selection will be voided.

Regular Season Rebounds

You're betting on: Which player will have the highest average Rebounds made per game during the regular season.

If any player plays less than 60 regular season games then their selection will be voided.

Regular Season 3 Pointers

You're betting on: Which player will have the highest average 3 Pointers scored per game during the regular season.

If any player plays less than 60 regular season games then their selection will be voided.

Top Point Scorer/Most Assists/Most Rebounds

You're are betting on: The Top Point Scorer/Most Assists/Most Rebounds in that day/nights round of matches.

Should a player not participate then all bets placed on that player will be made void
If the Any Other Player selection is not available then the Top Point Scorer/Most Assists/Most Rebounds of the players quoted will be settled as the winner.
In the event of a tie bets will be settled as a Dead-Heat
Should a non-quoted player be the 'Top Point Scorer/Most Assists/Most Rebounds' on the night 'Any other player' will be settled as a winner.

NBA Tip-Off Trebles

You're are betting on: Which players will score the most points/rebounds/assists on the day/night.

Any selections involving players who do not take any part in their match will be made void.
Any ties will be settled as losers.

Player X 1st Successful Field Goal

You're betting on: The specified players 1st Successful Field Goal.

Bets will be void should the player not participate.
Bets are settled off play-by-play on NBA.com.
Free Throws DO NOT count as Field Goals.

NFL & NBA Price Boost & RequestABets (Cross-Sport)

RequestABet - If a player does not participate the selection will be a void.
Enhanced Accas - in the event that a match does not take place - bets will be settled at reduced odds.
Exceptional Player Performance - If a player does not participate the selection will be void.
Cross-Match Specials - If a player does not participate the selection will be void.

Any bets where a player name is shortened for display purposes will stand against the players full name, for example "Giannis" refers to "Giannis Antetokounmpo".
Any RequestABet involving 3s (Three Pointers) are for them to be 'made' unless otherwise stated in the selection name.

NBA Player Season Specials

Number of X+ point games - You are betting on the number of X+ point games the player in question will achieve in the regular season.
Highest Scoring Game - You are betting on what the player in question's highest scoring game will be, come the end of the regular season.

NBA Free Agency Specials

Settled as the team with 'Player's Name' on their roster for the first game of the specified NBA Season
If no signing is made then the market will be made void.

Yes/No

Each question must be answered in order to bet on the market.
Settlement of each question will be in line with the usual market settlement.
Overtime will count in the settlement of this market.
If any player involved in the questions does not take part in the game then all bets on the market will be made void.

Three Point Contest

Number of 3 Point Green Balls Made.
You are betting on how many of the 3 point green balls each contestant will make. If the player runs out of time (doesn't attempt either of the green balls) then bets will be settled as exactly zero made.

NBA Horse Challenge

NBA HORSE Challenge - participants will be divided into two groups of four, with the winners of the first two games in each group meeting in the semi-finals.
The winner from each group will move on to the championship round. A coin toss at the start of each game will determine who shoots first, with the more senior player calling heads or tails.
Players must describe each shot attempt, specifying the type of score they intend to make before taking a shot, such as a bank shot or swish.
Dunking is prohibited.

Finals MVP

It is highly unlikely for a player to win finals MVP having lost the Championship. If the Finals MVP is given to a player on the losing team of the finals, bets placed on that player will be winners and bets placed on any of the other NBA Championship finals participants will be made void.
Any players that didn't reach the Championship Finals will be settled as losers

LeBron James Finals Specials

LeBron must take part in at least 4 games for bets to stand. If they fail to do so, all bets will be made void.

NBA Awards

You're betting on: Which player will win the stated award in the specified season.

These rules include but are not limited to: Regular Season MVP, Rookie Of The Year, Most Improved Player, Defensive Player of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, Coach of the Year.
Bets will be settled on the official award given out by the NBA.
If more than one player is tied for the award, bets will be settled with a Dead-Heat reduction.
If the season is shortened or changes format then bets will still be settled in instances where the NBA declare a winner.

Return the favour

You're betting on: A pair of players to assist each other in the action of either a dunk or three pointer made.

Bets will be settled based on ESPN's play by play function.
Bets will stand as long as both players take to the court, if either of the players do not register any game time then bets will be voided.

NBA Regular Season Wins

You're betting on: How many wins will the stated team record in the NBA season.

If the team you bet on doesn't complete at least 95% of their scheduled regular season matches the bets will be void, unless the outcome has already been determined.
If one or more matches are moved to a neutral site all bets will stand.

Series Points/Assists/Rebounds

You're betting on: Which player will have the most points/assists/rebounds across the series.

A player must step on the court at some point during the series for bets to stand. If they fail to play in any match, bets on that selection will be made void.
Dead-Heat rules may apply.

Series Highest Scoring Performance

You're betting on: Which player will have the highest single-game scoring performance in the series.

A player must step on the court at some point during the series for bets to stand. If they fail to play in any match, bets on that selection will be made void.
Dead-Heat rules may apply.

NBA All Star Weekend - Dunk Contest

1st Round - To Score a 50pt Dunk

You're betting on: A participant to make a perfect 50pt dunk in either of their 1st round dunks.

NBA Season RequestABet

All season long RequestABets will be settled in line with the rules of their constituent selections.
If any individual part of the RequestABet is void as a result of these rules, then the whole bet will be void.

Olympic Games

All Events will be settled on the official IOC (International Olympic Committee) Results.
If any team withdraws from the Olympics due to coronavirus, bets on this selection will be voided.
If any group fails to be completed by 4 teams due to team withdrawal bets on Group Winner markets will be made void.

eBasketball Rules

All match markets are settled based on the official score at the end of over time (if played) unless stated in the market name
Settlement will match that provided by our feed provider
Incorrectly listed teams will result in the match being voided
If a match is abandoned for any given reason (feed dropped, rage quit) leading to the match not reaching its natural conclusion in the expected time, known outcomes will be settled accordingly but any other will be voided
Postponement of a fixture will result in all markets being voided
