What is Athletics?

Athletics is a sport that includes a number of events involving running, jumping, throwing or walking.

General Rules

  • Olympic Games - All Events will be settled on the official IOC (International Olympic Committee) Results.
  • All Other Athletics - All Events will be settled on the official IAAF results
  • Medal Tables -  In the event of a disqualification, the medals/podium ceremony will count as the final result and determine settlement of bets. In the absence of a medals ceremony bets will be settled on a first past the post basis.
  • Postponement / Rescheduling - If an event is postponed and rescheduled to occur within 24 hours of the original start time, all bets will stand. If it is rescheduled for more than 24 hours later bets will be void. However if an event is postponed during a multi-event championship, for example the Olympics, then bets will stand so long as the event is completed prior to the closing ceremony.
  • In the event that any competitor is disqualified, including for false starts, bets will be treated as losers on that selection.

Gold Medal Winner

You're betting on: who will win the gold medal.

  • In the event that any competitor is disqualified, including for false starts, bets will be treated as losers on that selection.
  • Olympic Games, European Championship and World Championship betting will be treated as antepost, with bets on all competitors considered to be runners regardless of participation in the finals.
  • All other athletics meetings - if a competitor isn't named in the field, the selection will be void.
  • Dead Heat rules apply

Athlete specials

You're betting on: A range of specials offered for the named athlete.

  • Bets are void if the named athlete does not start a specific event.

Betting without

You're betting on: who will finish higher in an event, without a named athlete / athletes.

  • Settled according to the official result.
  • In the event that the competitor we are betting without fails to win the event, the winner for the purposes of this market will be the competitor that wins the gold medal.

Match bets

You're betting on: who will finish higher in an event.

  • These are settled on the official result.
  • If in a head to head match both competitors go out in the same round the bet is settled on who has achieved the better qualifying mark.

To Break The World Record

You're betting on: whether the world record for an event will be broken by a named participant

  • The named competitor must start the event for bets to stand
  • A DQ counts as starting the event
  • If a competitor is DQ'ed they are deemed to not have broken the record for settlement purposes.

To Make The Final

You're betting on: a competitor to reach the final of their event.

  • Settled according to the meeting's official website.
  • In the event that any competitor is disqualified, including for false starts, bets will be treated as losers on that selection.
  • Olympic Games, European Championship and World Championship betting will be treated as antepost, with bets on all competitors considered to be runners regardless of participation in the finals.
  • All other athletics meetings - if a competitor isn't named in the field, the selection will be void.

To Win A Medal

You're betting on: a competitor to win a medal.

  • Settled according to the official podium result.
  • In the event that any competitor is disqualified, including for false starts, bets will be treated as losers on that selection.
  • Olympic Games, European Championship and World Championship betting will be treated as antepost, with bets on all competitors considered to be runners regardless of participation in the finals.
  • All other athletics meetings - if a competitor isn't named in the field, the selection will be void.
  • Some events award multiple bronze medals, in the event of this occurring we will pay out on both bronze medal winners.
  • In the event that any competitor is disqualified, including for false starts, bets will be treated as losers on that selection.
