X Factor Rules

Please Note: Speciality markets can only be placed as SINGLE bets. They cannot be combined in multiples.

General Rules

  • Contestants who audition as a solo artist will be settled as a soloist for all relevant markets, irrespective of whether they later form part of a group.
  • For all markets; should an individual participant or group change their name at any point during the series, all bets will stand and the new name version will be deemed the same as the original name version for betting purposes.
  • We will often offer a range of specials markets on a weekly basis, with examples including “Bottom Three”, “Bottom Two”, “Double elimination - two to go”, “Double elimination straight forecast” and “Who will the judges save?”
  • From time to time the X-Factor may, at their discretion, change the elimination format. Where a clear settlement can still be determined, relevant markets will be settled as normal. Where a fair resolution on settlement cannot be determined on the basis of the market, we shall make these markets or selections void in the interest of fairness to all customers. For instance, we offer a standard market on the bottom two - which is usually determined via a public vote. In the instance that a double elimination is called, and the bottom two cannot be clearly defined, we would settle this market as void.
  • Whenever a twist to the standard procedure is announced, we will always strive to offer betting based upon the revised format.

Outright Winner

You’re betting on: Which Act will win the final of the X-Factor.

  • All bets will stand regardless of whether the selection is eliminated at the Audition stage, from Judges Houses or from the Live Show.

Next Elimination

You’re betting on: Which act is sent home next by public vote or judges’ decision.

  • Settlement will be based on the first named act to be eliminated in a specified week/show.
  • Where one listed act does not take part then stakes will be voided on them. Where two or more acts do not take part, then the market will be made void.
  • We will usually bet on Eliminations under the expected terms that there will be one eliminated act in any given week. If this situation is altered, we shall remove betting and reform the relevant book to take into account the revised situation. For the original market, where a clear settlement can still be determined this will be settled as normal. Where is it not possible to determine a winner, in the interest of fairness to all parties, bets will be made void.

Match Bets

You’re betting on: Which act will progress furthest in the competition.

  • The act progressing furthest in the competition is deemed the winner. If two acts go in the same week/show, the first contestant eliminated will be deemed as a losing bet. Acts who leave by walk-out or elimination will be deemed losers, regardless of whether they re-enter the show at a later point.

Top Individual Category

You’re betting on: Which act will progress furthest in the competitions within a stated category.

  • The act progressing furthest within the named category in the competition is deemed the winner. If two acts go in the same week/show, the first contestant eliminated will be deemed as a losing bet. Should any new contestants be added to individual categories during the show, existing markets will stand with the new contestant added, completed markets will not be reopened and a new market will be formed. When one act remains, that act will be treated as the winner, regardless of subsequent returns or new entries.

Who will the Judges Save?

You’re betting on: Who the Judges will save in the elimination sing-off (including deadlock).

  • Should the result of the judges vote end in deadlock, the result of the public vote will be deemed as the deciding judge.
  • Should the format change and the judges are not voting to save in the standard manner, then bets on this market will be made void at our discretion.

First Act Announced Safe

You’re betting on: Which act will be announced as safe first on Sunday night’s live broadcast of X Factor.

  • Settlement is determined by the first act announced as safe, in a specified week/show. If it is unclear which act is declared safe first then dead-heat rules may apply.

Top 3 Finish

You’re betting on: A named act to finish in the first three of the competition.

  • Settlement is based on results of the whole series/competition. Acts placed in the top three of the competition are deemed winners. If the top three result is unclear then dead-heat rules may apply. For instance, in the case of a double elimination of third and fourth place, and where it is not clear which act has finished in fourth place, these acts may be settled as dead-heats.

Winning Mentor

You’re betting on: Which Mentor will produce the winning act.

  • Should a listed mentor be replaced by a brand new mentor who is not in the show already, the replacement mentor will be assumed to be the listed mentor for settlement purposes. We would also settle the previous mentor as a winner in this scenario.
  • Should existing mentors switch categories at any stage during the show for a period of more than one week, settlement of this market will be made void.

Mentor to Lose all Acts 1st

You’re betting on: Which Mentor will lose all their acts first.

  • Settlement will be based on which mentor loses their last remaining act first. Should a listed mentor be replaced by a brand new mentor who is not in the show already, the replacement mentor will be assumed to be the listed mentor for settlement purposes. We would also settle the previous mentor as a winner in this scenario.
  • Should existing mentors switch categories at any stage during the show for a period of more than one week, settlement of this market will be made void.
